When I first got my Sony Xperia M, I synced the contacts list with Facebook. (And boy do I regret it now...)
I later added a landline number to a synced contact (call her H).
H then moved house, so I wanted to delete the number from the contact, but found it was impossible. (Other users have posted about this - apparently phone numbers just can't be deleted from FB synced contacts.)
I tried to delete the entire contact instead - also impossible when synced.
So... I de-synced my whole contacts list from FB.
I re-entered the same landline number on my contacts list under the name of H's former housemate M.
This appeared to solve the problem - until M phoned me, and the call appeared on my log under H's name. I can now access the same old uneditable, undeletable Facebook synced contact from my call log, even though it NO LONGER EXISTS in my contacts list. The landline number ONLY appears under M's name in contacts, but always appears as H when M actually phones me.
Please help! Does anyone know how to purge this from my phone? It's driving me round the bend!
You Can go to settings>Apps>All>Facebook>Force Stop and Clear Data.
However, you will loose any facebook data you have.
Contacts in the phone will remain as they are.
And the next time you use the facebook app, make sure you do not sync the contacts.
I had the same problem and this solved it.
Thank you! Data is cleared, now to see what happens next time I get a call from that number...
