Screen won't turn on

Dear readers,

I have a problem with my xperia z2. 1,5 week ago my phone got water damage, but turned itself off automatically and after using a hair dryer it luckily revived (although camera was blurry due to water and vibration didn't work). After a day or so the vibration came back and the water in the camera was gone. Today, however, the screen stopped working correctly. The phone functions (I get notifications and stuff), but I can't turn the screen on most of the time. It only turns on sometimes. Additionally, when turned on, the colour of the screen is off, it looks a bit like Apple's nightshift.

Things I have tried: reset using power and volume button and reset using tiny red reset butten. This sometimes makes it work temporarily.

This could either be due to water damage, but I also found people who reported this problem without water damage.

Any suggestions to make it work again? Thanks in advance!

@Repjas1 it seems to me to be too much of a coincidence.....after the initial water damage/drying out even tho it seemed to work properly again it may have taken a couple of days for some corrosion to occur within the phone, possibly creating a 'short' resulting in the sporadic symptoms you are experiencing......my advice would be to either contact your local support or a 3rd party repairer to have it inspected.

I decided I had nothing to lose and simply opened it, removed the battery, hair dryed it on the inside and put it back together. For now it seems to do the trick. I will post any future results. Might be helpful for others.
