Shutdown issue installing latest android software through Sony Bridge for Mac

OK So I open up Sony Bridge for Mac (recently downloaded from the Sony site) and it informs me that there is a new Android 14.2.A.1.136 (current version 14.2.A.0.290) update. I click update to which the start box comes up. It tells me it'll take about 30 minutes so I click continue.

It then does its initializing stage, when it gets to searching for Xperia device the phone decides to turn itself off. The software then gives me the message: Update Failed: There seems to be an issue with your network connection.

I then can not turn my phone back on without disconnecting the USB cabe. If I try again the same thing happens.

Does anyone have any advice for me please? I only got the phone yesterday after switching from an iPhone 4S. I really like the phone but this is more annoying that software updates through iTunes.

Thanks to all in advance Slightly_smiling_Face

You should get a new pop up message after that so Bridge can download the update engine, I had a similar issues yesterday since I had other programs running I didn't realized that I had to click OK, double check

Do you mean when it starts searching for the device? Even though it turns off? I'll try again and see if I get the pop up message and post my findings/
