Throw Music via Bluetooth Problem

Hi,

I'm trying to throw music audio to bluetooth speakers with the Z2 and it doesn't work. The weird part is phone calls work perfectly through the bluetooth speakers, but throw doens't work when playing music. The device also seems confused - the throw icon is highlighted in cyan, and the device under the menu is also highlighted, but the audio continues to play through the phone's speakers.

It has the same behavior with my UE BOOM speaker and with my car's system (mObridge MOST). My phone's software build number is 17.1.1.A.0.402.

Anyone else have this? Any known fixes?

Thanks!

NB. I also just got off the phone with Sony - TERRIBLE customer/tech support! Incompetent would be a compliment. First they said that the devices were incompatible and tried to end the call. Then I asked them to test the throw function and they didn't want to get a bluetooth speaker, then finally they agreed and found one but didn't have the power cable and said that they "don't have access to it". Apparently it's the office paperweight, and I was speaking with a "supervisor" as well. Very disturbing and disappointing Sony!

Hi Friend,

I am used the throw function using bluetooth on my Dell Laptop and it works fine. I am not sure, how relevant would that be.

Maybe, i think you should try to unpair your bluetooth device and again do a pairing and then try to throw. See if it works.

If that doesn't work, then try clearing the data & cache in Xperia Extension for Throw from the Apps Menu under settings and then do a pairing and try. Let know if it solves your problem..

machines are also like us, sometime we need to flush things old things out for fresh & new ideas..

Thanks a2k. I actually found the solution just fiddling around. Basically I clicked the Throw icon in the quick settings pull down menu and it started working properly, even though Throw was already active and I'd been through the full settings manu several times and the walkman app showed that it was connected to the speaker and throwing audio. Basically a software glitch. Now that it's working it's been very stable, and I can't get it to get "confused" again, so all's well.

Clearing the cache would have been a nice one to try - thanks for the suggestion.

I got the same problem. Also paired with my speaker and with another headphone to try if that one worked and by both it kept playing the music with the phone speaker. I tried to unpair it and pair it again (by both), cleared the cache and did it again. I tried doing it through the slide down menu, also didn't work. I did everything you did and it still doesnt work. The first 3 a 4 seconds it plays the music through the bluetooth connected device but after that it swichtes back to the phone's speaker. Help please

I had the same issue and looks like Tawkon Radiation app was the culprit, removed it and now it looks to be much better. If you have that app, remove that and try.
