W395 with smashed screen

I have a W395 with a smashed screen.

I've been trying all sorts to get the text messages off it but to no avail.

It usually involves sending me a text message with a verification code or something, but I can't read the text.

I was going to try forwarding the messages to O2's bluebook but I can only see the bottom, left half of the screen faintly and can't quite see which buttons I should be pressing.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can do this please?

You can download a program called my phone explorer which will allow you to transfer all your texts to pc etc and read them.

I got the sofrtware but I can't establish a connection with my phone. It's connected by USB and the USB is picking up the phon, jjust not the program.

If you click file and then connect it should search for it and find it. If not download Sony Ericsson Pc Suite which should work.

I tried that but it just keeps saying 'no ports available'.

Don't worry. I knew it was a long shot anyway, but I appreciate your help.

Now, does anybody want to swap a W395 with smashed screen for any other phone that works?
