Hi,
Yesterday I tried to turn on my phone after charging it. It vibrated and the backlight lit up as it usually does when the phone turns on, however, the Sony Ericsson logo does not appear and it stays frozen in this state. I have tried removing the battery for a few minutes but it doesn't change anything.
I also tried connecting to PC Companion, which intermittently detects the phone, as if it was being continuously connected and disconnected. I cannot do an update or anything to it from the computer.
Can anyone please tell me what the problem is and if there's anything else I can do?
Thanks in advance.
You can repair it with Update Service, but know that you will lose anything that you haven't backed up

I had a similar problem with my xperia active. The screen completely failed on startup, only a LED light showing it was ON and the backlight of the LCD.
I installed a new LCD and digitizer (bought it from ebay for around 20 USD) and everything worked fine again. Installing the new screen is a bit tricky since it's glued to the frame, but with some patience and sharp knive i managed to peel it off.
I hope this helps for the other people with similar problems. It worked for me :-).
