Hi my xperia j has hardlocked due to the unlock code being entered incorrectly a nuber of times. Is there any way around this. If i do a factory reset will it help?

You can repair your phone with SUS or PCC but I doubt that will make any difference

phone works at moment with a vodafone sim but i want to change carrier. If i do factory reset will this allow me to put any sim in?

If you had entered the wrong unlock pin more than 5 times it doesn't seem possible, you could give it a shot and try it but its hardly unlikely that it will work

thats exactly what happened. its amazing that there is no way around this!

You could contact Sony regarding that, but its probably requested by the carrier/network
