Hi,
my phone has no hdmi option in the smart connect application. Hence when I plug the hdmi cable into the phone nothing happens.
How can I solve this problem?
thanks
Try clearing data for Smart Connect under Settings -> Apps -> All and also download the latest version from Google Play if you haven't done so and see if that helps.
I believe that HDMI should work regardless of Smart Connect though. Have you tried connecting it to another HDMI-port or another TV? If possible, also try another cable.
This may sound really dumb, but do you connect the other end of HDMI cable to any external unit ?
As soon as you do it, an app called TV Launcher should start showing you various options .

Well... my problem is different...
I have an Acro S and also recently updated to .96
While most other bugs were fixed, HDMI plays alright, but sometimes sound goes away... I can be watching a Movie and then suddenly it becomes silent and the movie continue normally... And there is no external influence (sms, notification, radio signal...)
And once happened that I was playing music through the phone's speaker and suddenly the sound start coming out of the handset's earpiece... I barely notice it because it was really low... I somehow fixed it by calling myself and then start playing music again... it went normally through the speaker....
But the HDMI bug has happened more than a couple of times already and the only way around is to unplug from TV, play a sound through the phone's speaker... and then plug back again to TV... WEIRD
Model: XPERIA LT26i
ROM: 6.2.B.1.96
If the HDMI video setting is set to 'fine' a HW accelerated (Uses GPU to accelerate FPS) 16:9 aspect ratio video will only be displayed as 4:3 aspect ratio.
If the HDMI video setting is set to 'standard' a HW accelerated video can be displayed as 16:9 on an external monitor/TV.
The HDMI and GPU combination don't seem to provide a smooth 720p video experience anymore.
ICS v4.0.4 seem to have a stronger GPU configuration.
As a foot note, all my connections via HDMI work including using a HDMI to DVI-D connection.
