It's not possible to change the vibration strength for incoming notifications such as calls and text messages as standard in Xperia SP:

I suggest that you compare the vibration towards another Xperia SP to check that the vibration works as it should.

Im facing the same issue with my phone..i find the vibration extremely gentle in comparison to my previous htc desire s which when it vibrated upstairs on my desk, could be heard from downstairs!
While i havent found away to improve vibration strength, i downloaded an app called 'Vibrate tools' which allows u to set the length it vibrates for..which catches my attention more. Worth a try Slightly_smiling_Face

I agree with the OP, the vibration is too low on the SP. I tested on a Z and is much more intense. It would be good to have a setting to adjust it. Hope it make it to the next update.

I've recently bought an Xperia SP, and I'm also really disappointed with the vibration strength. It's so gentle that it's very nearly pointless having it enabled.

It could be a defective unit, have you checked other SP's to see the difference?
