Xperia u touchscreen problem (entire strip not working)

I have this phone since 2 years ago, until two days ago the screen has been working with spots that does not work at all

Since, i don't have warrant, do you have some ideias before i consider buying a new touchscreen...? I reset the settings ,update the android, still the problem goes on.. i did a test and this was the result. i apreciate the help
