Xperia Z

Since the last update, my phone will not work on Bluetooth with my car - a Ford Fiesta 09 reg. When using the button on the stalk and saying "phone", "mobile phone ", then "call (and the persons name)" ; after about 5 seconds it says "not possible". I had no problems prior to this update. Help.

Hi @Spamella

I suggest you to first run a backup of the device information like this:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Backup-amp-Transfer/m-p/407253#U407253

Then reinstall Lollipop using PC Companion:

http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

This will factory reset your phone and erase all data. You might need tocharge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery. Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device). Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process. If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP.

I hope can be useful.

Is there a way to get rid of this new Firmware - Lollipop, and go back to a previous version?

Hi @Spamella1

Could you try boot your device on Safe mode and see what happens:

I'm at disposal for any question.

Hi

Just rebooted in Safe mode.  Will have to wait until the morning to try it in my car, on the way to pick up my grandsons, to see if it Bluetooths with my car and works.

It's only been in Safe mode a few minutes, but the signal has increased from one bar to two!

Will keep you updated.

Thanks for taking the time to try and help me so far.

Regards, Sandra

Hi @Spamella

Your´re welcome.

Remember that issue is solved booting in safe mode, there is an app that is generating the problem.

Will be at disposal for any question.

No better in my car. I've done a couple of screen dumps - I think it might be to do with Google. I'm sending this via my phone and had hoped to add the screen shots, but can't find a way to do that!

Also my signal is poor this morning.
