Xperia Z1 Autofocus issue

I´ve noticed that the Xperia Z1 fails to focus in low-light situations and it even happens i daylight sometimes. In low-light i get 90% of blurry photos and 10% useable photos, so my conclusion is that Sony needs to fix this issue with the autofocus becasue it is annoying. I miss alot of good shots because of this in low-light!

Has anyone else noticed this? I´ve tried to repair the software with no luck at all.

Autofocus uses the center spot (or those 5 smaller spots when you use multi-focus points) to detect sharp part of the image. It uses contrast to do this, so if you aim this focus point without the led support on one color place, it even should not work at all on such a situation.

That's the way this thing works really. Try some tests aiming the focus point on some place that have more than one color so it can detect the difference. And of course you should use the shutter button pressing it half the way to actually catch the focus first, then press to the end to take the photo when you caught the focus and are happy with it (holding this on screen "camera" button will also act like this until you release your finger from it).

I´ve tried everything, even when there is enough light in the city in low-light conditons the autofocus fails. I have used all the settings possible and i have read that there are alot more people who has this issue so it´s common. The camera only needs a software update to improve it because even the xperia z had this issue in the beginning and got improved with future updates.

Really like the camera and phone, but Im expetiencing the same issue, lack of focus in low light (impossible almost in short distance cases) and in regular indoor situations also... this last one is more anoying. Hope some firmware update solves it.
