Xperia Z1 headset bug

Recently, I've purchased the the Sony STH30 headset and the problem is that when I connect it to my phone, it works but when I connect it for the second time, the phone doesn't detect it and continues playing sounds through the speaker. The only solution I found is to restart the phone which gets a little annoying. Anyone else facing the same problem?

My phone is running Android 4.4.4, built number 14.4.A.0.108 which is the latest.

That is a big problem, lots of people facing that problem, but no solution from Sony to that kitkat updates, all kitkat firmwares have that problem. You can see following posts

You should be able to see metal on the bottom of the plug hole.

If not, it's probably filled with dust. Use a toothpick, needle or something like that to carefully pull out the dust and you should be fine.
Seems to work for me.

Why it worked the first time after a reboot is still a mystery to me.

Try updating your device.Mine has version 14.4.A.0.157. And so far faced no problems.
