Hello my dear forumers, actually I have a problem with my Z3+ dual for a long time.
I bought it in last summer after my high school. At first it works very well if I ignore the little problems about the heating and the battery, but after a few mounth, I found something wrong. The storage space of my phone used up so I checked my storage and I found that the file in emulated/0/DCIM/.thumbnails occupied a lot of storage. I deleted them, but the storage space they occupied was not released and after some time, they come back. I found it seems only Restore Factory Settings can delete them, but it's kind of troublsome and I think it's anomaly, I think there should be some reason and some other ways to solve the problem. Now they occupied more than 8G storage space. It's horrible, and I hope u can help me to solve it.
Thank you very much.
There's nothing wrong with your phone, the thumbnail folder/files will re-appear all the time, you can clear the album app data every now and then.
Thank you for your reply. Actually I know the folder will re-appear,but the problem is, when I delete the file inside called '.thumbdata3-*****', it disappeared but the storage space that it occupied was not released. I tried to clear the album app data in the settings, but it's only 80+m, but the file inside the .thumbnails occupied 8.67G.....I don't know how to delete it completely to release the storage space.
just delete the folder > restart the phone > check again
also
settings > storage > clear cache (twice)
Thank you!!! It did's re-appear this time, although the storage space it used occupied seemed not released completely, I found the system app 'Backup&Restore' occupied 4+G storage space so I clear it. Now I have enough storage space. And the .thumbnails folder seems only occupied 100+m. Hope the problem won't come back again!
