Z3 Compact is dead

Hi all,

I bought a brand new Z3 compact and had it for 2 months so far, amazing phone and loved it. But now it's completely dead! After receiving an update yesterday, I have charged the phone fully and left it, in the morning the phone was dead! I cannot charge it, cannot access recovery, it doesn't respond to anything. Do you guys have any idea what the problem is?

I have contacted Sony Mobile sales representer in my country but he said that since this phone was not bought from his dealership, It won't be covered by warranty whatsoever. Is this correct?

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Usually,warranty is hold by those from where you bought the device.

I have tried all of the above,nothing works. The phone is 100% dead

Also while searching for this problem, I've noticed several similar cases to my case,also noticed that many of the defective phones were produced in Week 36 of year 2014. I don't know if there is a problem in these phones produced in that period of time.

Hi,
I have bought a Z3 Compact phone in United Arab Emirates (Souq.com online store) about two months ago.
Does my warranty cover free repair of this phone in authorized service centers in Jordan?
