Still no Android 9.0 update here in Finland. I still have Android 8.0.0 and my latest security patch is from September... I understand that Sony stopped the roll out due to some issues. Instead of fixing the issues, has Sony just stopped supporting the phone all together, since there aren't even new security patches?

Here in Spain we haven't received neither! But, actually, I'm not really sure from where I get the update, since my XZ1 Compact has come from Germany.

As per my message earlier in this thread. NO SUPPORT FOR US. SONY HAVE OUR MONEY!! RUBBISH. They ignored my asking why i had no Pie update, no security patch since September. I asked why the forum was full of complaints from those who did get the update. ABSOLUTE BYPASS OF AN ANSWER OF ANY KIND. STICK WITH OREO. BY A BRAND WITH BACKUP.💥💥💥

Yes, I think it would be unacceptable to stop supporting a phone this early. The model isn't even that old...

I think that Sony continue support XZ1Compact models one or two years, if the company is existing. It seems that Sony Mobiles are in the deep s...t : https://sonyreconsidered.com/layoffs-likely-coming-to-sony-mobile-hq-in-lund-sweden-3878cfd7939d

I think that Sony is suffering lack of knowledge or resources to provide Android 9 updates. It is clear that first Android 9 updates were catastrophe and now Sony is trying to find "quick fixes" to provide working updates. Ofcourse it might be possible that Sony is not offering Android 9 update in Scandinavia and expect that Sony users will buy XZ3 or XZ4 model to get more turnover. Let's see what is happening.

As a Sony customer for the past 6 years I seen that they started to prolong their updates and support for their devices. From monthly updates and fast fixes they got to the point whenever they just just give random dates and nothing more. Lots of promises but not much of any happening. Maybe because they started cutting their founds. As they make more money fro. PlayStations and others divisions than from mobile division. I would be OK even with oreo firmware. But at least they could send the security updates for the 2years that everyone else are doing in mobile marketing. Having a 3-now Forth month break on security updates. This starts to be really bad sign.  If they have problems with pie and have this kind of delay to fix it, they should do something about uploading those security updates .

And this is something weird if I look at it.  Bought the phone in UK from Sony. And guess what. O2, we, Vodafone are upload g android pie faster then Sony itself. This is the worst. How come a third party gets to give the new android faster than the Sony mobile device itself.

I just made "hard" decision. I voted by "my foot" and ordered new mobile device from other brand. The missing Android 9 is not the main issue but poor  battery performance of the device is. I made software fixing by Xperia Companion. I do not know if it fixed anything but now when using phone it warms and drains battery. Tack och adjö Sony.

I just got an Android Pie update and a new security patch. Everything seems to be working fine so far.

Seems with barely 12 months since release, updates for the XZ1C have now been abandoned. I really had high hopes Sony may have turned the corner on providing ongoing support for existing hardware, but I think this will be my last foray into Sony phones. Shame - I really liked their size, design and capability in a market overrun with bland low-end junk and over-sized expensive phablets.
