Constant loss of signal

My phone keeps losing signal and won't connect back until i restart the phone, this can happen up to every hour. Whenever this problem happens, i would not know that i've lost signal until i want to use my phone as it does not show no signal, the signal bar either sits at full(but still no service) or empty(but theres no notification). All other services ie.wifi, bluetooth. works fine except for all services and setting related to phone signal.

Toggling airplane mode on and off doesn't work, pressing on search for network manually doesn't giv me any results, pressing on search for network automatically shows "registered on network" but i would still have no signal.

I've tried using xperia companion to repair the software, doing a factory reset, changing the preferred network type to every option and dialling *#*#service#*#* and *#*#4636#*#* to change the settings from there but problem still persists. Moreover i've already changed my sim card twice and even sent it to Sony to repair 4 times, they tried software repair, changing motherboard, software upgrade and lastly they did a 1 for 1 exchange of device but the problem still remains.

change the default point of access to the mobile network  to either 4G or LTE or 3G.

try it out and monitor individually.

all the best.

depending on which android variant u have , i am on 7.1.1 on a z5.

Settings ->More> Mobile networks -> Preferred network type

if u have otherwise android variant, look for Mobile Networks>Preferred network type.

im on android 8.0.0. i've tried all options under settings ie. 4G only, 3G only, 2G only, 3G(preferred)/2G, 4G(preferred)/3G/2G.

i even went into the service menu by using *#*#service#*#* and tried the 4G/3G option. All of which did not solve the signal problem.

Last suggetsion i have is to have you try with a SIM card from a different operator.

Likewise, play around with the default network and monitor.

BTW, which operator's network are you on?

It will help if some other XZ1 user came on the forum to reflect similiar issue.

My network operator is Singtel.

Tried with other sim cards before which all works perfectly fine on other phones, including my own sim, except on xperia xz1 which gives the same problem

I am almost out of ideas. You done everything that i could think of. Its very strange.

I don't think this would happen but if you willing to gave it a GO, try in another location, for example if your problem always occurs at home, try the testing at your working place or vice-versa.

Just to confirm that you have also tried using the SIM cards from M1 or Starhub and they are all gaving you the same problem on your XZ1 phone. Can you double confirm?

Finally, if all suggestions fails, call Singtel and ask if they could reset your mobile account.
