Device not asking for unlock pattern/code and can be easily stolen by silencing/turning it off

Hello good day.

I have owned sony devices for over 10 years and I know 100% of their capacity and interface on smartphones, but I am intrigued by an action that is inevitable and worrying for the still owners of the XZ PREMIUM.

It turns out that having a lock pattern, of any kind, does not exempt the device from silencing it or even turning it off WITHOUT requesting the code or pattern.
This is obviously a point to correct or make a patch because of the risk to be easily stolen and give the thief the option to silence or turn off the equipment WITHOUT REQUESTING A PATTERN.

It is an issue that has already been mentioned on the network and does not seem to be taken seriously by the company.

I mean, of course there's a tracking device option in hand, but let's thinks one step ahead.

Thank you.

Hi @LeGoodUser, welcome to our forum!

I totally agree with you and these days phone thefts are unfortunately becoming more and more common.

What you have to keep in mind is that even if such a protection was added, you still have the possible to restart/power off the device using the volume up and power button and this is very needed if the device hangs up and the screen is black and it doesn't charge.

I will of course forward your feedback regarding this, but as far as I know, all manufacturers have a key combination to shut the device down and having to use your screen lock to turn the device off will not be the ultimate solution.

Thank you! Slightly_smiling_Face
