Do not disturb mode enabled during calls

It has been some days that when I try to call someone, do not disturb mood goes on and when the call finishes it goes off itself. I restarted the device(xperia xz) and went through the settings but still the same. Does any know what is wrong??

Hi again @Vooki@TM91 and @darekesp_xz!

What @Quester wrote is correct.

You may experience that Do not disturb mode is automatically enabled during calls when running on Android™ 7.1. However, this is intentional and not a bug. You can disable Do not disturb mode from the Quick settings menu.

To disable Do not disturb mode

  • Drag the status bar downwards, then tap Do not disturb.

So if you need to be able to hear notifications during a call, you can disable the Do not disturb mode when you are already in a call.

Hello! After updating Sony XZ to android 7.1.1 mode "Do not disturb" is automatically turned on during the conversation! Does anyone know how to disable it?

This is an intended feature added by Google in 7.1.1, they received a lot of feedback from people who do not want their phones to buzz on their heads while calling. But they seem to be not aware that some other people WANT THEIR PHONES TO BUZZ, so they didn't add a toggle to deactivate this feature, yet.

There's a thread on Google Code about it here:

Updated my Xperia XZ to Nougat 7.1.1, Firmware/Build number 41.2.A.2.199

Model F8332

Had plethora of bugs, such as WiFi signal dropping, call hanging, Network dropping, LTE unstable, etc.

A major bug was out of all was "Do Not Disturb" turns ON, on its own when placing a phone call, which caused major issue when calling someone or getting a call, total voice drop.

Did a Factory Reset of my device, did NOT restore anything, started a fresh clean boot, still the same bug when calling anyone.

Then connected the phone to my PC and reinstalled the whole firmware via Xperia Companion App, updated the phone back to latest Build, this time I did not sign into any account and started a fresh boot. Called someone to check if the problem of Do Not Disturb was fixed, NO..

Booted into safe mode just to make sure, still the same..

Conclusion : Latest Nougat 7.1.1 update received a few days ago has Do Not Disturb bug which does NOT let me place a phone call or receive one properly.. COME ON SONY.. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, my phone has been rendered useless.

P.S. Phone works flawless on previous Build.
