Is there any possibility to adjust how fast the auto-brightness function works? I would prefer it to be a little bit faster, because it takes almost 2 seconds before the screen gets brighter when I take to phone out of my pocket.
I'm joining this thread. This is my 4th Sony Xperia phone and if they don't fix this it will be my last one.
Anytime I take my phone out of my pocket to check time or getting a phone call the display is unreadably dim until a random amount of seconds have passed (1-7).
I realise that this is not the answer to your question about the response time.
I experienced the same and decided to switch auto-brightness off.
I must say I am very happy with it because I sometimes experienced a too dark screen in dim circumstances.
To smoothen the effect of a too bright screen I also set night light on.
The combination renders me what I expect.
Hope you can live with it as it is.
Your message is not helpful at all and you shouldn't put people who report an issue into a position where they can hopefully accept bugs they didn't buy into when they bought a Sony flagship device.
So far the brightness issue hasn't been resolved.
Additional bugs now include unresponsive screen when receiving a phone call while device is in my pocket.
Defaukt Sony time/weather widget resizing ridiculously when I set up an alarm.
Buzzing sound from speakers when playing louder audio.
Laggy interface after unlocking device.
Laggy photo app.
And the list goes on an on.
Definitely the bugs are more noticeable than features Sony introduces. This paints a sad picture and is the last nail in the coffin of any desire tu purchase Sony phones in the future.
