It would be helpfull if you can explain a bit more of your problem.

Is it still relevant or was it temporary?

It is constant. I can't use it to read  anything. I've turned it off over night  and recharged it, several times. It even flickers whilst showing the battery charge icon

What you're saying is that your phone is useless.

Then it's time to contact Sony Support.

Contacted Sony support.

They suggested a software repair or if that didn't work a hardware problem and to package up the tablet and send to them.

The problem eased a bit and flickering was intermittent

My technical consultant tried the softwsre repair but that hasn't resolved the problem. So I am considering other options

Screen flickering in Windows 10 is usually caused by an incompatible app or display driver. To determine whether an app or driver is causing the problem tellsubway, check to see if Task Manager flickers. Then, based on that information, you'll need to either update the app or the display driver.
