Forgotten pattern lock / factory reset

I changed my screen lock pattern yesterday and cannot remember it! I usually use the fingerprint lock to unlock my phone but then it asked me for the pattern for additional security and now I therefore cannot get into my phone!

I've tried a software repair via the laptop but it is extremely slow and eventually failed. My location is also off so cannot reset the security via Google.

Is there anything else I can try or is it possible to reboot/factory reset the phone while it is turned off?

Please help!

Hi @LC1983, I am sorry to hear about this.

I am afraid that the only ways to get access to the phone again is to either repair the software on the phone or to erase all data using Find My Device. If find my device won't work, the only thing left to do is to repair the software. Be sure to try different USB ports and different cables on your computer and if it still does not work, make sure that your computer meets the requirements for Xperia Companion to work.

You can find the system requirements for Xperia Companion in the link below.

Keep in mind though that since you are not able to access the device, you need to start the repair with the phone detached from the computer and tick the "My device cannot be detected or started, or is a Smartwatch 3" checkbox. For more information on how to repair the software on your Xperia phone, click here.

I hope that helped!
