I have a new phone that I got a few weeks ago. The gyroscope had never worked. I have tried to reset to factory settings but no change. I have booted in safe mode and it still doesn't work. On Xperia assist testing both the gyroscope, accelerometer and proximity sensor is "not available" and all it tells me is to restart the device and try again. Anything else I can try or do I have to get it repaired?
Hi @Skitne_Dingo, sorry to hear about this.
It sounds like it's the hardware that is defect in the device, but it's definitely worth for you to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion just to make sure that it's not the software.
Remember to backup your data though as the repair will delete all data stored on the internal storage.
Feel free to keep me posted!
Thanks for your reply, I forgot to mention I did that already. Didn't work
I have the the same issue with the gyroscope not working, but also the accelerometer and proximity sensor not working.
@Skitne_Dingo, oh, I see.
Time to have the device examined by a trained technician and your Local support team will assist you further and answer any questions you may have regarding the service.
@Richa4rd, sorry to hear that.
Have you tried doing the inbuilt tests for the sensors while the device is rebooted in safe mode? The tests can be found in Settings > Support > Xperia tests.
Keep me posted!
