Messaging app replaced by Android Messages?

I used to use the Messenging app which is also the default app for sending SMS in Sony XZ, there is also an option to switch between Messenging and Messenger (a Google app).

Now I cannot find the option, as well as there is only Messenger app for sending SMS in Sony XZs. 

What happened?

@Huy4 I have received information that Xperia XZs has the Android Messages app pre-installed instead of the Sony Mobile Messaging app. This change is based on a Google–Sony strategy decision. The change takes place starting with Xperia models in the Premium segment released in 2017.
