I posted previously about an issue that I had recently noticed with Miracast using the Customized_AU latest 47.2.A.10.107 firmware. It is on stock Customized_AU, and the phone unmodified; ie not bootloader unlocked etc. The functionality on earlier Pie firmware versions had worked perfectly.
The error I received was "The output device does not support HDCP. You can only mirror unprotected content of the following applications: Xperia Home, Music, Settings". If I try to launch another app from the Launcher, I receive the following on the phone : "Mirroring error. Your output device does not support HDCP. Cannot mirror. You can still mirror some apps and unprotected content to the device".
I have investigated further. The output device is a Kenwood DDX9017DABS, which is on the latest firmware and there have been no changes to it for over a year. The specifications in the manual (available here) on Page 91 says:
Miracast (Air Mirroring) section (DDX9)
Mode: Sink
Copyright protection: HDCP 2.2
Touch Control: UIBC
So, the output device does support HDCP! Every other android device I have connects with the unit. The only conclusion is that there is a bug in the Customized AU firmware that has been introduced.
Even though I use this functionality only occasionally, it's extremely important to me.
Is there any chance of a fix for this being released?
