XZ3 Dual SIM issues

What's the experience of other users for the dual SIM functionality? Is SIM 2 on standby when the SIM 1 is engaged? Callers tell me that my number is unreachable when using the other line

Hi @Bali4,

Currently, Xperia devices support DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby), which does not allow you to handle two calls simultaneously on two different SIM cards. However, you can forward calls that come in on SIM card 1 to SIM card 2 when SIM card 1 is occupied, and vice versa. This function is called Dual SIM reachability.

Have you enabled the Dual SIM reachability in your device? If you haven't please follow the instructions below to enable it.

  1. Make sure you have enabled both SIM cards.
  2. Find and tap Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced > Dual SIM > Dual SIM reachability.
  3. Drag the slider beside Dual SIM reachability to the right.

Do note that Dual SIM reachability uses the Call waiting feature, so this needs to be enabled by your operator and on your subscription.

I hope that helps! Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi Jonas,

Many thanks for sharing this suggestion.

I have activated dual sim reachability. Let me now see how the phone behaves.

Thanks again!!!

Hello,

The issue of poor signal did persist so I decided to use one sim only but it still persisted. I suspected that the problem might be the carrier, so I put the same sim in my XZ1 Premium, and the signal is now so clear.

On the other hand, the XZ3 is still having signal issues even after inserting a sim for a different carrier.

Really frustrated

Hi @Bali4, sorry to hear that. Slightly_frowning_Face

Is it only at specific places that the signal is weak, or is it weak in general and you miss calls/can't place calls even when you are in a city?

You can try and set the device to a different network mode and see if that has any impact on the strength of the signal, just so we know if it is only 4G/LTE or the same on 3G.

To change the network mode, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Preferred network type > Only 3G.

Keep me posted!
