My sons Z1 digitised seems to have failed (will not recognise his pattern), not all the dots responding. This, he now tells has been coming for a while originally taking several attempts before working. According to the forums this is a known problem for these phones. Any suggestions, or should I submit for a repair. If the latter could you advise how to go about doing it and the likely charge? Regards, Bernard
I'm sorry to hear about your issue but this is not a known issue, check if there are any cracks on the screen, btw, I had this phone for many years, so far no issues, just the battery doesn't hold the charge as good as it used to, but that's normal.
You can repair the phone with XC to see if that solves the issue but test the touchscreen
settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test touchscreen.
Many thanks for your reply and helpful suggestions. I've found many comments about Xperia phone touchscreen/digitiser problems on various sites (XDA forums ect.), with many suggesting a manufacturing/hardware problem. I cannot see any damage to the screen/case (always had a screen protector and been a protective case). I cannot get into the phone to test (also tried hooking it up to the PC - with no joy) as it's locked with a pattern lock. Looks as though I need to approach "XC" (Xperia centre?) for a costed repair. As I've just located the original box for serial Nos etc.. and noticed the phone is a Z2!
Regards,
Bernard
