Factory data reset date.

Hi, I have received a Xperia Z5 dual and who gave it to me said it was new but in diagnostics a "last factory data reset" is marked on May 15 2016 and according to Sony site guarantee expires on May 2018. Now, just out of curiosity, is the phone refurbished?
