how to change keyboard

i had some system update today and now i have no option to change my keyboard anymore.

i got to language and input settings and it just shows me spell checker and personalisation. i can click on "on screen keyboard" and select one of my installed keyboards but then it just takes me to its settings. i can't actually select to use it.

i also can't do this with the settings icon while trying to type text, that also takes me to personalisation settings like "skin" or "height".

Let's see if we can help resolve this for you.

Try the following.

Apps > Settings > Language & Input > On screen Keyboards > Press Manage Keyboards > Turn off the keyboards you do not wish to use > turn on the one you do wish to use.

This should resolve the problem.
