What exactly isn't working? Do you get any error messages? Have you tried connecting different devices using NFC? Have you made sure that NFC is turned on? You can do so if you go to: Settings > More > NFC.
As @uliwooly suggested you could test to reboot your device to safe mode to see if this behavior is caused by one of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.
If you are still experiencing the same behavior I would recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.
