Problems after update (Lollipop 5.1.1)

I´ve got some problems with my Xperia Z1 Compact after the upgrade to Lollipop 5.1.1.

* Camera

When I launch the camera, the screen is only black and after a while I get the message "Camera doesn´t respond / Kameran är inte tillgänglig"

The flashlight doesn´t work ether.

The only way to use it, is to restart the phone and use it once, then it won´t work again.

* Calls

When someone calls me and I don´t answer, I still have a notification about an incoming call next to the missed call.

Earlier I couldn´t hang up or have any information about an ongoing call, now it´s only the notification.

* Alarms

The alarm crashes after about 10 seconds.

How can these problems be fixed? Will there be an update or something?

Edit:

The solution for my camera was to clear data & cache for the apps Camera & Cameras.

The solution for alarm and calls (that actually was about repeating a selected ringtone/melody) was to Disable use of AwesomePlayer under Development tools in Settings.

Why not perform software repair from computer it will smooth things up. If you read the forum you will see many people have different types of issues after updates but after software repair everything becomes normal again.

Meanwhile check this thread and try the suggestion from xda and see if it works.

@Zoi

Repair your phone's software from computer with PCC

Note: It will wipe internal memory so consider taking backup.

Edit: @Zoi before you do software repair how about you clear data and cache of alarm and camera by going through settings--apps--all.

* Camera

Clear data and cache was the solution for my Camera! (cleared the apps: Camera/Kamera & Cameras/Kameror, Camera common, Camera extension)

Finally I can use the camera, thank you!

* Alarm

I tried to clear data and cache for (Clock/Klocka & Clocks/Klockor) but no change.

Alarm still stops after 10 second and the screen isn´t responding to touch, after pressing the lock-button I get the message "The App Clock doesn´t respond, do you want to close it?"

* Calls

I will return later about this problem. (cleared the apps: CallWidgetFramework, the three Phone/Samtal but not the call/message-storage since I want to keep my SMS-data)

@Zoi

*I am glad that camera is working for you.

*Now can you boot your device in safe mode and check your alarm app again?

* Alarm

I´m not sure how this went, but i tried to reboot the phone in safe mode, no change.

While in safe mode, i cleared some more data & cache for apps like: Timer, Sound picker/Ljudväljare, Sound settings/Ljudinställningar, Manager for Small Apps/Hanterare för små appar, Small App Launcher, Small App-framework/ramverk + Clock & Clocks again. Still no change.

I rebooted into normal mode and when I tried to pick a alarm-melody, the sound picker app crashed. I selected a new ringtone for incoming calls and the sound picker app started to work again.

I deleted all default alarms and created a new alarm and did something at every setting even if it was just about turning things on/off.

Then the alarm started to work.

But when the alarm played through the song, I realized that the problem now was about repeating melody/ringtones. When the sound has reached the end, the app that is playing the sound will crash even if I try a mp3 instead. (Sound picker, Alarm, Calls I guess?)

So, the alarm works but repeating a sound chosen from sound picker will crash the app that is trying to repeat it.

I am facing the same problems zoi did/is with the Xperia Z1 Compact afrer the last update as well. Hate it now. Think Sony should do something about it. For someone like me who is not so good with gadgets, an update becomes very important. Sigh!

@komilAD

Maybe I will try a software repair someday, but I´ve done so much customizing to my phone that I rather not.

I went to the thread and followed the link to the post at the xda forum:

"camera issue is caused by a setting in developer options - awsomeplayer Nuplayer - disable the option, this also causes problems with video playback and custom alarm and ringtone selections causing crashes"

Disabling the AwsomePlayer solved my problems with the Alarm!

I also found this in my ADB-log while troubleshooting, just to clarify that AwesomePlayer were having problems:

10-06 01:32:00.912 358-19568/? I/AwesomePlayer? Could not offload audio decode, try pcm offload

If anybody else is having the same problem, try going to Settings / Development Tools / Disable use of AwesomePlayer (located under the Media section)

If you can´t find Development Tools under Settings, follow these instructions to unhide the menu.

When texting my message font is now very pale and difficult to read.

Any solution to this?
