Hi,
I am using two different accounts on my Z2. The first one is my GMail account. Everything's perfect avout this. Second is my Exchange account. Here I figured ut that the Z2 des not sync my contacts. I checked all settings for the account and contacts are marked to be synced, but without success.
Has anybody an idea of what could be the probelms?
Thansk for your input.
BR,
Christian
After many many hours of searching for an answer I have finally found a workaround. Telstra was unable to assist and suggested that this was a Sony problem. I contacted Sony and was told that they could not help as they do not warrant the delivered apps will work. In other words it is the users problem.
I tried many alternative apps, some of which worked OK but didn't offer a suitable business look, feel and functionality. Out of desperation I then tried Nine. Works really well and am really happy with it as it not only fixed the contacts sync problem but also provided a much better email app. I highly recommend it.
Just want to sign this.
Contact added on the phone is added in outlook.
But i cant see them on the phone,
Groups added on the phone\outlook does not show anywhere.
the search on the phone works (after a long time), but brings up all exchange contacts on the network.. and not my outlook contacts\groups
Google contacts shows. but the phone use hella amount of time showing me names\numbers in messages\adressebok
(yeasterday it tok me 5min to open a sms and answer, because the phone was hanging)(Google)
I thins I may have a solution. I had a similar issue with Exchange (2010). I lost about 300 contacts out of my 900.
I looks like the default definition of the phone is to sync only contacts that are part of a group. Phone with no group do not appear in the contacs app. If you try to add them in it will show that this contact exists once you add mane and family.
The solution is very simle. Just change the filter to all groups and every thing works both ways.
I have tested it and it works OK.
Strange way the filter is this way by default.
All my contacts are in a Group.
no response from sony here?
I found a solution.
If you want a phone contact to sync with your exchange account...
Only enter the new contact on your phone using the contacts button, add new contact (person symbol with plus sign at the bottom middle)
Where it says "Phone Contact" set this to "exchange contact"
Complete and
Hey presto.
Adding the new phone number and contact any other way will not allow it to sync to exchange.
Sony should put in a fix whereby a user can select AS A DEFAULT which way they want to sync contacts.
i..e. Exchange account, Google account etc using tick boxes.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Adding a new contact from Outlook/Exchange, doesn´t appear in the phone, and adding a new contact from the phone, doesn't appear in Outlook/Exchange.
Exchange contacts filter is set, so I can view the current contacts when I created the account.
Best regards.
I have the same problem on my Z2 and also on a Experia Z.
I hav tried with a Samsung mobile to the same Exchange server and it works as expected.
Changes made in Outlook are synced to my phone, changeing the contact on the phone is not synced back.
I have tried to remove my outlook account with no result.
This should be high priority to Sony as it is a highend phone.
Hi guys,
Solution I found is to open Contacts app, choose Filters and remove the check in "Only show online contacts"..
All exchange sync'd contacts now show up as expected.
But it seems like a bug since I don't expect the phone to have a way of knowing of a contact with just a phone # and email is online or not. It is not a Skype contact, after all.
Bob.
