Setting SD card as default saving location

Hello,

Right now the camera app on my Z3 compact is the only app saving on my SD card. When I download files or the stuff from whatsapp, everything is saved on the phone. With my last mobil I could choose the default to be either the phone or the card. Is there anything like that on the Z3 compact? The first time I used the cam after I put in the SD card the app asked if I wanted to save on the card from now on. I would like that for the other apps aswell.

Thank you

Sony, as other big brands, only wants you buy wider memory phones, as obviously are most expensive to us and profitable to they

I think the reason behind this is that people tend to buy cheap SD cards that usually fail, and end blaming the phone for the errors.

I had the same problem. My phone was all the time at 95% capacity, even though there is plenty of space on my SD card. I created the habit to transfer Apps to my SD card after every update, and deletting all the files received/sent from apps such as Whatsapp, except the ones I wanted to keep, which I would move to the SD card. However, this was really annoying.

I decided to restore my Z3C to factory settings, and thanks to the backup to my Google Account, it only took 40 minutes or so to have it running again with all my apps and settings already there, and about 50% of internal memory usage. So, I know this is not a solution, and that it would be great to decide storage location for apps, but is good to keep in mind that most of the downloaded apps, after uninstalling, leave a lot of trash on the phone that can only be removed by restoring to factory settings. That's one effective way to freeing up space.

Hello people !!!!. My name is Guillermo, from Argentina and I own a Xperia Z3 tablet compact (SGP611). This is my first time to give an opinion within a forum, I hope to be useful and in the event that I ask for forgiveness for some mistake.

From what I understand the storage of applications and files, depend on several reasons:

* Manufacturer of the device. I have a Motorola phone, a Samsung phone and a Sony tablet. None of the three are managed the same in relation to storage.

* Android version. I have used the following versions of Android: 4.4.4 Kitkat, 5.0.2 Lollipop, 6.0.1 Marshmallow and CyanogenMod 13 with Marshmallow 6.0.1. None of the four are managed the same in relation to storage.

* To be or not to be Superuser (root): There is a great difference in relation to the subject in question. Having root I use Link2SD plus or Apps2SD pro.

* Applications: Regarding applications depends on whether they are own device, whether they are Android (Google) and ultimately depends on the manufacturer of the same.

My Z3 tablet compact today runs the version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, which gives me the possibility within -Adjust / Storage- transfer data to the SD; But the most important thing is that the same version of Android gives me the possibility to enter a memory card to use it COMPLETE as internal or external memory. And more importantly is that researching the topic I found that in this version of Android there is a way to use a percentage of the card as internal memory and rest as external (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=phACTS7t8TA ).

I send greetings and I hope I have been useful.
