Xperia Z 4.2.2 issues - adding Widgets, Exchange account error

Updated to Build number 10.3.A.0.423 aka, Android v.4.2.2 last nite via OTA in Singapore.

1) When trying to add widgets in home screen, the error occurs and after displaying "unfortunately Xperia home has stopped", the shorcut(recently open apps) list is displayed.  This is happening even after restarting Xperia Z. I am unable to add Widgets in this case

2) Exchange mail account is not connecting to Corporate server "Security error. Could not connect to server..."

Hope a fix comes up soon...

There are a few more topics on the Exchange problem on this forum, I have a called the Xperia support so there is at least on open support ticket!  but it was about 4 weeks ago and still no response ... I suggest that you clear data for Xperia Home. Go to settings > apps > the tab all > Xperia home > Clear data. Restart the phone and try again.

Try to remove the Exchange account from your phone and add it again.

Similar problem on my phone regarding exchange mail account is not connecting to corporate server.

This occurs only after upgrading to 4.2.2

The "system administrator" setting that should occur after mail account setup, to ensure proper security setting on phone simply does not happen. Therefore no access to emails.

Removing the exchange account from phone and add it again does not help.

Hi Alexander,

I did as suggest on clearing the Xperia Home cache which didn't help.

What i did to resolve the widget issue :

1) backup all setting and files using the Xperia Backup and Restore.

2) Reset phone to factory default, in this case the new upgraded 4.2.2 ROM image

3) From a cleanly reset phone, the widget adding function works fine. Restoring all apps and data causes it to re-surface. By trial and error, I found one of my installed apps (Brightness Widget- Backlight) is the culprit for this error. Uninstalling this apps solved it.

The Exchange issue remains a problem as most user reported in this forum. Removing the exchange account and re-creating it didnt help.

One thing i just notice is the, Settings -> Developer options is missing after the upgrade.

By tapping 7 times on the "version" in "about phone" you will get the dev. options.

Oh thanks for the tip.

tapping a few times on About Phone -> Android version gives me a Red bean smiley Slightly_smiling_Face

tapping 7 times on About Phone -> Building number opens the dev options

Whoever is reading this, try it for fun Slightly_smiling_Face

Alex, Your suggestion on the Exchange a/c error doens't help. I keep getting 'Sync in progress' message on re-adding the Exchange account, but the Sync never completes. Are you releasing any patch/fix to resolve this issue urgently? This is a major issue now, as we can't acess our corporate emails. Hope this gets fixed on a priority basis.
