Xperia 1 - No media on car bluetooth

Linked my X1 to my BMW, phone works fine, shows as linked for Bluetooth audio but nothing happening. When I select the phone in the media list it says no device connected for Bluetooth audio? Anyone else got this issue? Can't live without music in the car. #xperia1

So this is an issue with BMW. Found the answer on the following thread. Need to lower Bluetooth version in developer options to 1.5 should anyone else have this issue.
