I use an app on my Sony Bravia Android TV which has now updated so that it will only work with Android 7.1 or higher. My TV has Android 7.0 and when I try to update it I get a message that this is the latest version. Is there a way to get the later version?

Hi @John130843 What is the full model number of your TV. It will start with KD or KDL.
Hi @John130843 and welcome to the Community
While we wait to check your exact model I have a feeling that your TV won't be able to update
as Android 7 was released in 2016 and your TV is probably no longer supported for updates if you are
getting the 'this is the latest version' message.
The TV model is KD-49X8305C and when I bought it it had Android 5. It has automatically updated as far as Android 7.0. You may be right that the hardware/firmware cannot support later versions of Android. If so can the firmware be updated?
The last firmware update for your TV was released on 7/4/2021 v5.457
Check to see if your TV is already at v5.457.
Click on the link below to Sonys Support page for your TV,
Click on Firmware update to v5.457 to see more information on the update, click on
View previous benefits and improvements to see a comprehensive list of all the changes that have been made in previous updates, all these improvements are included in this update v5.457.
Hi again
The latest firmware update to 5.457 was released on 7/4/21 but this would not allow further Android updates anyway.
What app were you using?
Edit apologies for repeating the firmware version and date posted by davey, I didn't see they'd already posted.
Hey @John130843, have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and checking again? Also, are you experiencing this issue with any other apps or just this one?
