Blank screen
Hi,
I bought a Sony TV in January 2022. In July I noticed when I switched on TV I had a blank screen (purplish tin) and just sound. I turned off TV and turned it back on and it was fine. It began to happen more regularly, maybe twice a week. However what I notice now is that when I turn off and turn tv back on the picture flickers for a while (10-15min) before settling down. I've tried a software update and factory reset. I thought the latter worked as it was fine for about two weeks before it happened again at the weekend. Any idea what's happening here?

Hi Sassy1, that looks like a hardware fault, not a software one. What's the model number of your TV? The software version? Connected devices? Normally, what do you watch? Also, have you tried contacting Sony support? As I believe the service should be booked through them.

Thanks, that's what I thought, I'll follow up with Sony. Model number is KD-43X81J. It has the latest software. The only device directly connected to it is my Sky modem. Sky, Netflix, Disney is what I watch on it.

Thanks. I’ve been in contact with engineer and based on the info, photos and video I sent him he said it appears to be an issue with screen. As Sony don’t replace screens he advised me that Sony will replace the TV.
