Does Bravia TV KD32w800pu support wireless casting? I cannot find any way to make it discoverable to my tablet.
Hi @minHAF
According to its specifications it supports chromecast. So as long as your tablet is Android you should be Okay. Use the Google Home App to mirror your screen or Apps like YouTube cast direct. If you have an iPad you are out of luck, again according to your specifications Apple Homekit is not included. However you may find an App in the Play Store which may be built in. Choose Tools.
My tablet can connect wirelessly to other devices without a problem. Alone in a room with the TV, it cannot discover it on the YouTube app, Google or when I select "connect". I realize this must be because it is not Android. Will I be able to use it as a monitor if I get a cable?
If you are a Sony rep, I would ask if salespeople in general could be better informed as casting only from Android devices was not mentioned during the whole run up to my purchase.
Hi @minHAF
I'm afraid you will not find any "Sony Reps" on here as this is a community of customers, basically fellow customers helping other customers.
I can only repeat that you may find an App in the Google Play Store which will allow you to mirror your non-Android (what actually is it?) tablet.
I have to say that if you asked the salesperson if it is possible to cast your particular tablet to this TV you have a clear case of misselling and should contact your Retailer immediately to return the TV or seek compensation. If it is an iPad then an Apple TV box will provide screen mirroring. If you didn't ask then no salesperson in the world can read your mind!
You can use a cable to connect to the TV. It is only very recently that Sony has provided AirPlay2 to allow iPad screen mirroring and only on the expensive models. Note as far as I know YouTube casting should work. I cannot test it on my Sony TVs as they both have the Apple HomeKit and AirPlay2.
