I have a KD 49XG8094 android TV. I'm trying to get the ITV player app on it, but it keeps wanting to activate youview. Is it possible just to download the app from the play store.... I'm on the most up to date software. I don't have any Aerial, just a sky q input and a Blu-ray player input. I gave no access to an external TV aerial.
Thanks. I assume youview needs an aerial....Seems a bit backward having an android TV,and not be able to download TV apps like ITV player.....
Hi, yes you will need to use the Ariel to set it up, follow the steps on here to do so:
Unfortunately I haven't got any terrestrial Ariel, so cannot set it up. Seems strange Sony decided to do this, rather than just allowing access to the app..... Anyhow it is what it is..... Have to use my daughter's Roku box instead.....
Hi there,
There is a way, check my old post here:
Solved: Re: can't see the BBC iPlayer, All 4, ITV etc on t... - Sony
They are actually separate players now, so you can just install ITV only if that's what you want.
Hope this helps.
