When using hdmi 3/arc for either my sony blu ray player or my Virgin TV Box the output sound thru the tv speakers is in mono
Before the recent firmware update it was in stereo and the info bar at the top of screen read Stereo 3840 x 2160
after the upgrade it reads B 3840X 2160
What does the B mean.
The other hdmi inputs are all ok.

Hi stevethesweep,
Welcome to our community!
You can easily resolve that by pressing on the Audio button on the remote control to change between audio channel A, B and Stereo.
Let us know if this resolved the issue.

Why after software upgrade playing in mono from HDMI as default ? I only noticed recently when listening to a concert and noticed something with the sound was missing. I think a lot of owners have the same problem and are not aware of it.
Is it possible that this was not related to the update, but was the result of accidentally pressing the Audio button on the remote, something whose significance was not noted?
Or having been pressed, it was pressed again to toggle it back to what it was, but as it goes A, B, Stereo, this was only far enough to get it to B?
The comparable problem we get a lot of on the YouView Community is ‘ever since the last update, there’s been this lady explaining what’s going on in the programme’, at which we explain they have fat-fingered the bottom left button on the remote and got AD (Audio Description) and they should press this again to toggle it off.
And this has zero correlation with updates; indeed in many cases, there hasn’t been one
I'm glad I read this before calling in the repairman.☺
Blank is stereo.
A is ?
B is ?
I can’t find out what A & B are, other than mono. A = left, B = right? What is their purpose?
