KD-55XD7005 HDR?
What are you playing at sony?!
I just brought this tv, on your websit it says it has HDR, but when the tv came it dont mention HDR anywhere and the rep on the phone said its not HDR compatible!
So i spent £850 on a none HDR tv and yet it clearly states on you website it has HDR!

Hi @flunkyou2,
also in Italy the TV doesn't support HDR at this time, but is planned to support it in the future with a firmware update.
What kind of HDR is the problem because XD70 should not has hardware for HDR playback.
Just only a software update for HDR?.. This is the question...

Hi there
Its no wonder why us average consumers are confused, as even Sony are confused themselves with the mixed messages. Anyhow, I have emailed one of my contacts in the hopes that he can sort out the Support end of things so emails like the one you received are not giving mixed messages.
Another handy thread to read:

Thank you for the Reply Quinnicus... Does that mean the customer services are wrong or is the site info wrong?

Hi there
As Marino explained above, this model TV will get a firmware update, which will enabled HDR. So Sony Customer Services is wrong

I have a kd-49xd7005 (uk) and got a firmware update today, if you go to sony support page the changelog says hdr is included in the firmware update, can't find a setting for it yet and I've tried some hdr content on amazon video but still can't seem to find a setting but only had a quick look.
here is a link to the changelog for my tv

checked for kd-55xd7005 and nothing there at the moment but hopefully you will get it soon

Hi there
If its going to be anywhere it will be under "Picture Mode". You must be playing a HDR movie for the option to become available in "Picture Mode"
- Play a HDR Movie either on Amazon, Netflix, YouTube or from USB
- Press the [Action Menu] button on remote control
- Goto "Picture"
- Select "Picture Mode" and "HDR" should already be chosen
Although, Sony have stated "Visual indicator with compatible HDR signals" - Unsure on what or where this "Visual indicator" is at this moment.
Cheers
