Question on warranty

Hi everyone, I am thinking about buying a brand new unopened Bravia Sony OLED TV (A95K) from a friend, he hasn't registered the TV himself, if I register that TV under my account, do I still get warranty for it and does it start when I register it? Do i need show a receipt when registering as I don't have one?

In the event of a warranty claim, the first thing you will be asked for is a copy of the official purchase receipt. Ask your friend to pass it on and keep it safe.
