Hi I'm new to the Sony community. Im wondering if anyone can help/advise. I did a factory reset on my TV and now I'm stuck in a reboot loop, it starts up and presents the set up screen, however when I'm part way through the set-up it shuts down, reboots and then displays the start of the set-up again, in other words lm unable to get all the way through the set-up to be able to work the TV. I've rebooted and factory reset(using the buttons on the back of the TV) several times, and still it returns to the reboot loop. Do I need to replace the 'power supply board'. Any ideas!
According to Sony's article, I think you do need to contact the Sony support reps to get it serviced.
Contacting the 'Sony service rep' was one of the first things I did, they told me that everything that I had done was what they were going to tell me to do, i.e; factory reset, but it seems to me that the factory reset that they would have told me to do was the very cause of the problem (reboot loop) however when they found out the TV was out of warranty they seemed to lose interest in helping, and offered up some TV repair contacts, which would have been no doubt unfinancially viable. It's just a shame we live in a chuck away society, which is probably what Sony want because they'll hope you'll buy more of their products......not in this case .. I've gone for Samsung. It's a shame coz I quite liked the Bravia, before it gave up because of something they told me to do!
The reboot loop was a common issue with a few models and isn't actually caused by the reset, it can't be caused by a reset or an update unless the TV lost power midway for example.
As far as I can recall, it's a power/motherboard issue that is only fixable with a repair if the forced reset didn't affect it, at least according to the article.
But I do understand your sentiment, when it comes to TVs you can find a replacement from another brand or the same brand if you wish, but there are specialty devices that outright don't have replacements anymore, an easy example would be an old console for example.
I just hope this improves for all companies in the future.

Solved!
At first it appeared factory reset by holding keys on powering up is only supported from Android 6. (43X8305 works on Android 5 with no option to update to Android 6.)
But if you connect it to the Internet via Ethernet, holding the keys on powering up gets the TV into "ring mode", meaning you see pulsing rings instead of the Android logo loop. With my 500MBit/s cable connection this took about 15 minutes, I guess with a slower connection it takes much longer.
After that Bravia 43X8305C booted Android and started fresh with the welcome screen. I skipped all the channel search etc. and found the channel order to be still in earlier (good) condition. The software is now back to what it was in the beginning, all the additionally installed apps are gone. Same about sound and picture settings, it did a factory reset indeed. And it's fast like back in 2019 when it was new!
The good news is the HD recordings are still there and usable. (As I bought an Apple TV meanwhile for access to Netflix, Youtube, etc. I will never install additional software again.)
