There is no automatic update of sideloaded apps. After abt 2 years I thought I should at least update the browsers, Firefox from ver 67.0 to todays 68.5 and Chrome from 76.0 to 80 0.
The installation proceeded as usual until the final "DONE" screen which also had the error message "App not installed", same for both. Tried to uninstall Firefox and reinstall - same message.
Anybody with similar experience? What to do?

@rooobb Thanks, am afraid of losing Chrome. Actually managed to reinstall the previous version of Firefox.

with the amount of RAM we have, it could only load half of a tab 🤣
I'm not using browsers on TV since ma laptop and tablet are always on the coffee table. With wireless keyboard that I could use on the TV also but i just never do.
Anyway...... chrome can still be installed on Pie, just tried on my XG95. The thing is that it does not show on launcher (expected) but it also does not show under setiings/apps (unexpected). Sou you have to look for it under system apps and open it from there and then it works. version 80.xxxx
Thanks, will try Chrome again when pie finally gets here!
Agree that surfing the Internet is not that great on ATV, but I do find a browser useful as a go-between to Web Multi-Media. The YouTube app takes care of a lot of that, but not all.
I use a html web page with over 50 shortcuts to websites that I often visit, such as my Blog and Vlog etc. I especially enjoy using the html menus to our family videos on YouTube (unlisted)
Seems like I won't get pie on my XD80
It is not still disclaimed which platform will get Pie. Mine A1 has the same ATV2 as well as some 2019 TV (such as AG8). We'll see.
OK thanks, will be patient
