Where are iPlayer and ITV hub apps on new A90J 2021 OLEDs?

All the common UK catchup tv apps appear to be missing for the tv and they cannot be installed from google play store.. spec clearly states YouView support and specifically iPlayer.. surely i cant be the only one that has noticed these are not there?!

Just got mine yesterday. Can’t believe it doesn’t have iPlayer.

 Perhaps you’re right, but I had a “Chromecast with Google TV” (with iPlayer) and read that this TV had the same OS. Not quite the same I guess. It wouldn’t have occurred to me that it had the Google TV OS but certain apps can’t be loaded.

I bought a Sony TV which was advertised as having iplayer and your view installed,  then was told that sony would be updated soon , this was in September still no apps on TV so had to buy a fire stck to get catchup , feel I was sold a tv that was not as advertised.

The official statement is that they're coming within 2021.
So, they still have a bit of time for now, so let's wait and see what will happen in the upcoming days?
Maybe it'll be a Christmas present for us 😄.

A complete and utter ***** up not making these available. Sony need to sort this out immediately. The artogant incompetence of some tech companies beggars belief.

Bloody outrageous! This definitely looks misleading to me. Can everyone please take this link and report it to Trading Standards as a breach of the Trade Descriptions Act 1968. I will report it myself also.

Hey, the TVs are ready for the apps as per Sony guys. I agree it's totally frustrating. I cannot see anything can be done for now, it's a matter of days.

Bought my XR65 OLEG TV last Friday. Sony trainer was in the store and told me it had iplayer and itv hub which was a requirement of mine. Got it home and superb picture and sound but no iplayer etc, then started finding all these messages with the same problem. TV goes back to Curry's in the morning, they have agreed it's been miss sold and could not believe it didn't have the apps until they tried the display one themselves. I have a number of Sony appliances, I shall not be buying Sony again. Brilliant TV as far as it goes, let down by abysmal Sony service.
