I've ordered the TV but the unit which I have is not wide enough so the ends of the stand would be overlapping at either end about 4 inches. Is the weight of the tv supported right across the width i.e. will the TV be stable or do I need to find alternative stand which will support in the middle (by fixing to VESA points)?
Thank you

Hi @trevorrg22
I installed my XR-55A95K last week and I certainly agree with the manual that the stand must not overlap at the ends so my answer is no. I set mine up in the back position and at either end there is a protrusion of about 4 inches that must be supported.

Thank you I can see from your picture that's where the substantial part of the stand is. I'll buy a VESA stand for it
I used a desktop stand which I bought from Amazon but really don't like the look of it (compared to using the proper stand which is supplied with TV) so I've now ordered a new TV cabinet which is 125cm wide so the original stand will fit. I know it will look better.
