I have been looking for a long time for a 4K camcorder (preferably a Sony - I have been a very happy owner of four different Sony camcorders over the years) with a 1 inch sensor (for superior picture quality and the possibility of making objects stand out against a blurry background) and INTERVAL RECORDING for making stunning time-lapse movies of weather, stars or traffic or for easy recording of animated stop motion movies. Panasonic has had an interval recording program (so that you can record a single frame every 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. seconds) in their camcorders for years. I think many dedicated video enthusiasts are missing a camcorder with exactly these two capabilities.
