Transfer images from camera to Iphone 6

Ever time I attempt to transfer images form my sony DSC-HX 80 camera to my iphone 6 my  playmemories mobile app that says I,m connected to camera but also displays the following message "failed to get status information of the camera".  Any thoughts on way it fails to get camera status information?
