Transferring from old handycam to macbook
Hi - I want to try and transfer old digital 8 cassettes onto my MacBook. I have an old (but still working) Digital Handycam (DCR-TRV110E) and want to try and downloads some of my old cassettes onto my (original 2010) MacBook. I have an i-link cable to USB but it's not being recognised my MacBook. Does anyone know what cables I should be using or some other software other than imovie? Any help or advice gratefully received. Thanks

Hi Vicesj and welcome.
Does this knowledgebase answer from Sony help?

I think the 2010 Macbook Pro (15 inch) has a Firewire 800 input - if this is your Macbook you will need a Firewire 400/iLink to Firewire 800 cable. Firewire 400 is the same as iLink.

If you still have problems, please let us know exactly what inputs your Mac has.
