File Commander ads

Can someone explain to me why the File commander started to show ads at the bottom of the screen. I've been using same free preinstalled version for months and there were no ads at all. Now, I see ads even when wifi is off. I've tried updating, clearin cache, settings, even hard reseting phone and scaned with most antivirus programs but nothing helps. Ads are there, slowing down folder browsing. Why did they appear now?

It won't change the ads, unless you buy the full version, but you could go to settings > apps > file commander > disable background data.

@uliwooly yes i have done that. It doesn't make any difference, so guess i will be using some another file exploral.

@issahil

That seems to be the only option.

We should have any update to remove or uninstall this.

I understand that this is not a Sony app, but it was provided by Sony as the default file manager with the operative system.

Frankly it is disappointing that Sony does not have an agreement with the producer to keep the version of the software provided by default ad free.

I mean this is not a demo of a game added as an addon to try, it is a fundamental piece of any operating system.

Anyway I use now Solid Explorer. What bothers me is that I cannot remove and free the space.

Uh... Well, when Sony started providing the file manager, I think one of my z3 from a carrier has it, and it was without ads... But if then the "app" developer decide to put apps, well.. That's not on Sony. However, I paid for the pro version actually because so far is the best file manager I ever found but I'll give a look at Solid Explorer!!! Slightly_smiling_Face

On miy Z5 Premium I've gone settings > apps > file commander > the only options I have are disable or force stop. Am I missing something?

Buying the pro version isn´t a solution to stop advertisements.

A filemanager is a basic function of an android phone and should be free without advertisements. With the next generation of phones you will have to buy an app to start phonecalls and another one to take photos and you have to buy the premium version to create videos and you will have to make another yearly contract to create 4k videos because of people buying the pro version to stop advertisements. It´s really stupid to pay someone to stop going on your nerves. Instead of paying, tell them how they do it right next time!

Buyers of flagship phones do not want any advertising on the screens! I ignored rating your app, but your non stop reminders made me give you the only star. I have the Xperia Z5 Premium and you won´t even allow me to uninstall the app, thus using up the phone´s precious resources. The full premium version should have been provided free of cost if you had planned on forcing this demo app on our flagship phones. I find the idea of being hassled to buy an app they gave me really annoying. Either give me the app or don't. Sure, I stopped caring shortly after I disabled notifications, but I shouldn't have had to do that. The point of contacting sony is customer feedback. They have no idea what people like based just on sales, if this type of crap gets no blowback they'll continue with it just getting worse and worse. Avoid this app as much as possible everyone.

FileCommander displays ads in the notification. It promotes third-party products, such as Plarium. The developer of this application is not Sony, but you put it in the firmware. Will you act on MobiSystems, or remove it from the firmware?

Buy the app, it will stop the ads. or look for another File Exlporer and disable file Commander
